Supply chain support for fast-growing small kitchen appliances lifestyle company with special focus on the launch of Beautiful by Drew Barrymore at Walmart. Improved existing 3PL. Improved inbound product flow during supply chain crisis. Relocated operations to a new 3PL to better support the future of the brand from a service, capacity and cost perspective. Finalized my contract at the end of the transition to the new 3PL.

Easton, Pennsylvania / Los Angeles, California / Chico, California

Oversaw all operations from planning, product flow, and inventory management through to final order fulfillment and delivery of the customer promise. Split distribution network to support faster customer service (east coast / west coast). Launched “Lean”, “CPO” and “Six Sigma” change management initiatives to improve productivity (+35-40%) and capacity while also driving down lead times (300% improvement at peak) and overall costs ($4M annual improvement). Implemented S&OP processes to synchronize merchandising, production, finance and operations. Prepared for exit (IPO) which was interrupted by the Covid 19 pandemic. Finalized my contract after establishing all Covid-19 operating procedures (zero days closed across all operations during the pandemic).

Completed redesign and re-engineering of global supply chain operations. Increased initial capacity by 80% within 60 days. Opened two additional US-based fulfillment centers and relocated EU fulfillment operations all within 6 months, increasing capacity a further 200%. Revamped product flow, ecommerce and fulfillment systems to ensure more accurate and timely order flow. Conducted an RFQ and consolidated all US operations into one single 3PL with ~5 year growth capacity/capability runway. Prepared for the opening of an additional EU fulfillment center to support Brexit. Instituted S&OP planning processes across production, “drop” team, finance, logistics and fulfillment. Prepared for exit. Asked to stay on as an advisor from April through December 2019.

North Carolina, United States

Relaunched heated clothing brand with focus on motorsports, hunting, snow sports and golf apparel industry segments. Improved overall product quality and converted +50% of the business from wholesale to e-commerce. Sold to largest wholesale customer within 3 years completing a successful exit.

Memphis, Tennessee

Led operational transformation in support of a potential Walgreen’s acquisition of Rite-Aid that would require Fred’s to acquire ~1/3 of all Rite-Aid assets. Deployed four modules of JDA to improve inventory utilization. Reduced inventory by over $40M while improving store in stock positions. Improved inbound logistics, distribution center and store delivery services and costs to support an additional $5M in annual savings. Project management leadership to assess the Rite- Aid assets best suited to compliment Fred’s existing business. Built integration plans for “Day One” of the potential newco. The Walgreen’s acquisition of Rite-Aid was ultimately denied by the FTC thus eliminating the need for my services.

Greensboro/Winston-Salem, North Carolina Area

Grew Duck Head, Gerbing, Gyde Supply Company & Crittenden clothing brands. Implemented NetSuite in 90 days. Converted brands from wholesale (B2B) to ecommerce and retail (B2C) by establishing systems, websites and digital marketing campaigns. Assisted private equity with exit helping to sell off brands. Executed a soft landing and clean shut down of the existing operations. Purchased one of the businesses from the private equity group and prepared to run that company going forward.

Columbus, Ohio

Oversaw apparel distribution for Value City Department Stores, Filene’s Basement & DSW footwear. Led all aspects of multi-site, non-union distribution network for high-volume, fast-moving off price retail company. Supported enterprise wide systems conversion. Renewed management focus and created culture of team work and continuous improvement. Delivered a 25% decrease in DC operating CPU through culture, process and resulting productivity improvements, mainly unlocking discretionary effort and requiring zero capital investment. Was recruited away from RVI to Ralph Lauren based upon a recommendation from a former colleague at Gap, Inc.

Charlotte, North Carolina

Led all day-to-day operations in a fast-paced, high-volume, non-union regional service center. Migrated Southeast operations out of a 3PL logistics service provider and into a new design/build, company owned 1.6M square foot highly automated DC. Achieved design productivity targets within first 90 days of operations along with established engineered standards. Start up included implementation of new enterprise merchandising & logistics systems platform that would later roll out across entire corporation. New operations and capabilities supported Corporate growth initiative from $3B to $6B in revenue. Recruited away from Ross Stores to be a General Manager / VP over multiple locations.

Established and led a Global Supply Chain Project Management Office (PMO) responsible for identifying and implementing large-scale supply chain and business transformation projects.
