I graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and minors in Fine Art and Art History. I like to think I am a "jack of all trades," so to speak, having started my artistic interests in fine art (paintings, drawings, etc.) before transitioning into digital media. I feel this gives my work a creative and unique edge compared to other design as I often incorporate my fine art background and current interests in illustration into many of my design projects. My biggest strength as well as my biggest weakness is my perfectionism because every detail of a project matters to me, but this also fuels my hard-working, determined nature when tackling projects and assignments. I am also a well-balanced leadership personality meaning that I will make sure tasks are done efficiently, whether I am working alone or in a team, but I will not overpower any other team member's voice in the matter. In terms of technical skill, I am knowledgeable in Adobe programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), but of course always have more to learn.Early on in my life I realized that I wanted to pursue an artistic career, but with fine art being as subjective as it is today, I felt heading down the path of graphic design would financially benefit me in the future, and it turned out that I enjoy and thrive in it just as much. Aside from simply having an interest in art history, I believe and am often reminded in school that the long history of art and design progressively impacts different aspects of work today, and it is important to know where something comes from to fully understand it and know where to go. As previously stated, I enjoy and incorporate fine art into my graphic design work and have especially taken interest in illustration (or as my professor says, "drawing for graphic designers"), and it gives my work a distinctive quality to it.
