Based at the Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) offshore yard, I support the site manager leading the company’s site team responsible for overseeing and monitoring HHI during the construction, systems completion and on-site commissioning phase, for the 23,000 tonnes, 100,000 BPD, semi-submersible Floating Production System (FPS) to be located in the Gulf of Mexico, USA waters. As Topsides (and HSE) Lead, my role involves day-to-day interfacing with HHI project management, engineering, construction management, HSE, quality and commissioning teams, to proactively manage the ongoing work and resolve issues across all site construction, completions and commissioning activities.

Hejre Development ProjectBased at the DSME Yard, I led the Company’s +175 man site team responsible for overseeing and monitoring the Technip/DSME consortium executing the final stages of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract, which included mechanical completions and on-site commissioning support, for the 15,000 tonnes platform topside and main living quarters (MLQ). As Company Representative, I was responsible for day-to-day interface with the contractor including management and resolution of all technical and commercial issues across all site activities.In April 2016 the EPC contract was terminated and the company entered arbitration with the consortium. During this period I managed the close-down of the site operation and release of the site teams at the fabrication yards in Korea, whilst establishing a small task force responsible to support the ongoing arbitration process. Additionally, I continued as point of contact for local relations and negotiations with the consortium in an effort to secure safe disposal of the part-completed topside.Final settlement was agreed with the consortium in mid-2017, following which I finally closed down the Korean operation for DONG.
