In December 2009 I decided to become a freelancer to work on a more varied range of projects and with a greater variety of customers. I worked directly with several design agencies and web development teams as a supporting resource including front-end and back-end development.HIGHLIGHTS• Working with Marks & Spencer creating several UX checkout prototypes that were used as customer journeys for usability testing.• Working with Comet Group plc as a Lead Front-end Developer under contract for a major website re-design and re-brand which resulted in a 0.5% increase in site-wide conversion. This included working with the User Experience Manager in designing and creating front-end templates from wireframes and overseeing the design and front-end code of two other contractors.• Working with Comet Group plc to design and create their first mobile website release that supported multiple handheld devices.• Created several interactive, content managed Facebook applications games and competitions for Comet Group plc that included a Christmas Cracker, a photo sharing application and an application to promote a product that reduced in price the more the it was liked and shared.• Founded, designed and built the online invoicing subscription service, WhizzyInvoice that allows users to create PDF invoices for their clients and manage the payment of their invoices.• Completed a major redesign of the Megaman UK website into a Content Management System that is updated regularly by the Megaman marketing team, includes a mobile device specific website and has seen a 40% increase in traffic.• Worked with IBC Publishing to redesign and migrate 5 sites with over 10,000 articles from an old Microsoft ASP platform to a new Linux platform that uses a Content Management System MODX to allow the editors to regularly update the site.

Responsible for the front-end development of Comet Group's main retail website Comet.co.uk. I worked on lots of really exciting things such as redesigning the whole of the homepage, improving conversion using cutting edge tools and techniques and redesign areas of the site based on customer research.

Working at GET plc (Now Schneider Electric) I worked with the IT department in creating a wholesale transactional website that allowed their customers to order their products quickly and easily. It was a great project that was a first for it's kind in that industry and received great praise from the customers.

I worked at BT's offices in Hemel Hempstead and worked on a really wide range of different projects from the Tate Gallery floorplan to creating installation CDs for BT's products.

Employed as a contractor to further develop ITM Group’s XML-based Content Management System “Pluto”. I was responsible for the design and development of front-end web templates using XHTML, XML, XSLT and XPATH and working with the Java and JSP team to integrate the front end templates into live pages.

My role within e-district began as a “Web Designer” because of my strong HTML & CSS, Flash and JavaScript skills. I was responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the Interactive TV web-pages and micro sites for platforms such as Telewest, NTL and Sky. I created some of the first online games, chat & messaging boards, advertising banners and multimedia presentations used on interactive TV.
