I was responsible for setting up customer requirements, and reviewing and testing of the functional designs provided by (external) vendors and suppliers, within the framework of compliance with the specific laws, regulations and rules of the Dutch energy sector.I was responsible for regression tests and release management. I had a central role as a liaison between the end-users, developers and IT-suppliers.This resulted in a system that met the requirements of the users, the consumer and the wholesale market.

I was responsible for handling and monitoring all data messages (EDI+) for grid operators and suppliers (relating to the energy market, including gas and electricity commodities). My responsibilities also included data analysis of the messages, aimed at improving and correcting the messages and the related processes if necessary. I controlled proper data processing in the main system, which is very important in making correct forecasts and nominations. Ensuring correct and error-free data processing, the quality assurance on syntax and semantics was improved and this resulted in expedited and improved billing cycles.In addition, I monitored the market developments and took care of coordination and communication with the market affiliates in the energy sector. Membership of the EDSN (Energie Data Service Nederland) foundation was an important role in this. This has resulted in a deep understanding of the Dutch energy market and its processes. This acquired knowledge can be used to adjust systems and technology to support the requirements.
