I'm bad at talking about myself, but good at breaking down complex systems and problems into pieces that are easier to digest. I've been working at the intersection of data analysis and organizational management for over ten years. Most of that experience has been in human services, helping some of the most under-resourced populations overcome systems of oppression that have hurt them and their families. The three adjectives that could summarize my work ethics are: empowerment, collaboration, and direct communication.Program evaluation and planning should not exist in an ivory tower, so I actively work with front end users to empower them with the knowledge and confidence to read and understand their own data. To that end, I've designed and conducted user surveys to see where users experience stumbling blocks and to better inform the assistance they actually need. I also use this information to better design and implement training curriculums and programs. Data is dead without collaboration. As much as the numbers make sense to me, not everyone operates on that wave length. I make sure the rubber meets the road because I work to expand my relationships and break down data sets into reports that direct services folx can use to inform their program's direction. Finally, I've been trained in the Sanctuary Model of organizational change and aim to create trauma informed workplaces by compassionate, direct communication. Having hard conversations is, well, hard, but as an evaluation and compliance professional, improvement best occurs when people feel seen, respected, and safe. While I operate primarily in the background, I work with front end users at every opportunity. Program performance and evaluation doesn't need to be a cold, aloof idea. When it's understood by the people it directly impacts, it leads to organic organizational change that impacts attitudes and outcomes.
