Active angel investor member since 2008, past Chair from 2011-2015, investing in emerging & early stage northern New England companies, intentionally focused on female founded or led ventures. Since 2003, Maine Angels has been a cooperative membership mechanism for accredited investors to collaboratively identify, investigate & make investments in promising northern New England early-stage companies. We individually chose to make our own investments with interested other members, designating a deal lead to represent all of investing member individual investments in a portfolio company. We rely on the collective expertise of our colleagues to intentionally focus on investing in Maine and New England start-up companies. Since inception, Maine Angels members have invested over $31 million in 85+ emerging companies (including over 100 follow-on investments in our strongest portfolio companies)(Jan '21). There are now 29 female members, 32% of the 90 individual members and organizational representatives. In 2018, Sandra was one of the women featured in the inaugural issue of Moxie Maine Magazine (Jan) and awarded the SBA Maine Financial Services Champion of the Year (April). She was recognized by Mainebiz as a Woman to watch in 2013.

The Dirigo Angel Fund I, LLC is a pooled-investment fund organized to make investments in high-growth emerging companies through angel stage investments. The Fund is a 'side-car' fund for Maine Angels, (group of accredited investors that make investments predominately in Maine companies) and is an outgrowth of the three Bangor Angel Funds approach which operated as pooled-investment funds. Dirigo Angel Fund 1 has made 9 investments totaling $1.67M in emerging technology companies as of the end of 2021, and still had 32% of the fund remaining to invest in ventures identified through the Maine Angels selection & diligence process.

CEI Ventures manages socially responsible venture capital funds, and is currently raising funding for Fund 5 "Good Jobs Fund". The company was founded in 1994 to mobilize private capital markets while advancing social goals. To date, CVI has raised four venture capital funds and made $26 million in direct investments in nearly 52 companies. In 2017, became a member of the inaugural compensation committee.

Continue as active investor and an 'ambassador' for pipeline & membership recruiting , and ecosystem engagement, connections and collaborations.

Advanced Falmouth HS team to 10th state championships in 13th season, (‘05,‘06,‘08,’09,’10,’11, '12, '13, '14, '15) Finished 187-14. Several recognitions including "The Forecaster” 2005 Girls’ Spring Coach of the Year; 2009 & 2013 "Forecaster Northern Region"​ Spring Coach of the Year – Girls’ Team; 2005 and 2014 “Portland Press Herald” Girls’ Tennis Coach of the Year; 2014 Maine Tennis Association Class A Girls' Team Coach of the Year. Helped re-start a co-ed Middle School program in 2004.
