I’m a test programme manager, test architect and team manager at BT. My focus is on delivering critical services to Government customers and large UK businesses that support front-line / operational staff and users. I like to understand customer needs and enjoy being a part of a team bringing new and innovative solutions to life. In order to progress I believe it's essential to tailor testing services to individual needs and not simply recycle boiler-plate or use yesterdays methods. Testing should be intrinsic in all project delivery stages, throughout the service transition and in-life operational running. It should add value and be used to enhance products, services and is key to de-risking programmes of transformation and change. I’m driven by the difference that testing can make when it's engaged at the right time. My role and aims as an experienced consultant, architect and manager are to: • Clearly articulate the benefits of testing. Do the right things, in the right places, in the best way, with the best resources.• Create a framework that ensures the commitments made can be delivered: simply, efficiently with flexibility and rigour.• Manage testing to align with the delivery priorities, demonstrating measurable and effective progress.When only a loose outline exists or objectives are immature, I can quickly identify solutions, set out directional intent and I’m comfortable teasing out preferences and ideas from others.As a testing SME I'm happy when I'm sharing and coaching colleagues who have the same enthusiasm. I develop trusted relationships and build up ideas to foster a shared commitment to delivery. I take pride in being able to mobilise a team, lead and see them flourish and become self-sustaining as we deliver on our commitments.
