 The range of experience I have acquired over the years since my ex-husband (Scott Taylor), his sister (Angie Taylor), and (myself) first opened The Beaufort St Merchant in 2005 to today is extensive and difficult to completely define Responsibilities included music systems, POS system implementation (ImPos), bookkeeping and all administration requirements within a family run business including travel arrangements for European buying trips As our business grew from a gourmet shop… Show more  The range of experience I have acquired over the years since my ex-husband (Scott Taylor), his sister (Angie Taylor), and (myself) first opened The Beaufort St Merchant in 2005 to today is extensive and difficult to completely define Responsibilities included music systems, POS system implementation (ImPos), bookkeeping and all administration requirements within a family run business including travel arrangements for European buying trips As our business grew from a gourmet shop that included a clean-skins liquor section into a fully-fledged restaurant with a tavern license, my role varied from dealing with council applications regarding Liquor Licensing, to management roles, and all aspects of growth and development The main skill set I have learnt from this experience is the importance of team-work, clear and concise communication, the understanding of fluctuations in the economy, the importance of cash flow, understanding financial reports, and that concerted hard work is necessary to succeed In 2014 I organized a charity dinner and auction for CCT (Cambodian Children’s Trust) that included a five-course dinner (with one course from a different chef), an auction with donated items and a silent auction of some 18 artworks from Cambodian artists.
