Elizabeth Montgomery Work Experience Details
  • National Kidney Foundation
National Vice President, Learning Strategies And Population Health Programs
National Kidney Foundation Oct 2022 - Present
This role encompasses leadership of three core NKF teams. I have the privilege of helming the Kidney Learning Solutions team responsible for development of all NKF educational content. My responsibilities include development of the organizational content strategy for the website and the team responsible for its implementation.I have generated over $4 million in support for innovative population health approaches to improve chronic kidney disease testing, recognition, and management in primary care settings leading a team focused their deployment. These programs include development and implementation of the CKDintercept Learning Collaborative, MIPS measure development, Laboratory Engagement Initiative, etc. I also lead the team responsible for formulating programs to advance health equity and improve public health.
  • National Kidney Foundation
Vice President, Learning Strategies And Primary Care Programs
National Kidney Foundation Aug 2019 - Oct 2022
I lead the Kidney Learning Solutions team and optimized all team work flows. I also developed the NKF strategy to engage local departments of health to test out novel approaches to improving kidney disease testing and diagnosis in primary care settings.
  • National Kidney Foundation
Senior Project Director, Primary Care Initiative
National Kidney Foundation Oct 2014 - Jul 2019
    New York, Ny
I architected CKDintercept, a multi-year initiative to identify the 26 million people with undiagnosed CKD and establish preservation of kidney health as a public health priority. - I established new streams of funding through product innovation and engagement of new audiences which has attracted US$ 1 million in new revenue this year alone.- By formulating a population health strategy for CKD in primary care, I coached the PCMH team at CareFirst, a Blue Cross/Blue Shield provider covering 3.8 million lives, to identify 155,430 at risk for CKD and to implement a CKD population health program establishing best practices in the recognition, diagnosis and management. This initiative yielded PMPM savings in its first year.- I conceptualized and facilitated the evolution of a clinical laboratory advisory group to collaborate to remove barriers to CKD assessment and improve the consistency of reported results. This initiative engaged senior leadership of all the national diagnostic laboratories (including Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, Sonic Healthcare, ARUP, Mayo Laboratories and BioReference Laboratories), the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC) and the American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA) in an ongoing collaboration to effect recommended changes in nomenclature and reporting nationally. This campaign was launched in February 2018.- To engage the broad stakeholder community in the need for change and to leverage their perspective to inform our strategy, I recommend and quarterbacked the implementation of the CKDintercept Summit, a research-based "think tank" of C-suite leadership. Dr. Regina Benjamin, 18th US Surgeon General, chaired this discussion which engaged senior medical leadership from CMS, HHS, IBM, Walgreens, Quest Diagnostics, Medtronic, Humana, Advocate Physicians Partners, Ascension Health, AAFP, AAPA, OhioHealth and others.
  • Corporate Performance Consultants
Senior Management Consultant - Strategy/Change Management
Corporate Performance Consultants Aug 2012 - Dec 2016
    Hauppauge, Ny
Most engagements involved organizational assessment, strategic planning, change management, and team-building coaching (emotional intelligence, overcoming immunity to change, etc.). Select highlights include:- I guided the development of a three-year strategic plan for a $40 million provider of services to the developmentally disabled community. This articulated specific quality and reporting strategies to position the organization for the NY State Medicaid managed care model and preserve over $1.5 million in annual revenue during the Medicaid transition.- To improve morale and engagement, I conceptualized and implemented an organizational change management program to increase tactile communication between independent-living residents and staff. This program yielded a 40% decrease in reported symptoms of depression within the community.
  • We Move
Director Of Strategy And Strategic Accounts
    We Move Feb 2004 - Oct 2012
    New York, Ny
I conceived and implemented a funding and development strategy to support a highly-focused, 501(c)3 specializing in medical education in a niche area of neurology. Some achievements include:- I secured grant funding in excess of $2.4 million to develop and deploy a public awareness and education campaign. The Life in Motion campaign realized greater than 220 million media impressions in less than 8 months and was recognized with 50+ awards for creativity and effectiveness. I authored, directed & produced an educational video, which was widely distributed as a teaching guide, which received 30+ awards. I devised the strategy to create the Life in Motion Coalition which engaged 58 disparate patient advocacy groups and professional organizations in collaboration for five years to fulfill a shared mission.- To improve educational outcomes I conceptualized, designed and shepherded the development and deployment of an innovative educational modality to overcome the limiting effects of cognitive bias on continuing medical education (CME). This program was recognized at the highest level of medical education as representing a paradigm-changing innovation. As a result, I secured collaborative alliances with major medical societies to utilize this technology for physician formative assessment (American Academy of Neurology, American Thoracic Society, and others)
