STT is a heat exchanger manufacturer for the oil, gas and food industry. The business is in distress and looking to make a turnaround. My role is primarily focused on providing financial analysis, which was not previously available due to the lack of investment into the existing ERP system, to make informed decisions and turn the business around. EBITDA for the financial year 19/20 was positive following 5 consecutive years of significant losses. The changes I have introduced has improved STT's working capital that the business was cash positive in the 19/20 financial year.During my tenure I have worked alongside the Sales and Operations directors to improve gross margins, sales terms (improving the asset-based cash position), on time delivery, improved labour utilisation and inventory management. Since July 2018 the majority shareholder of STT is the private equity firm Nova Capital (£nil investment).I am now focused on bringing new business to STT in new markets to ensure a sustainable future for all stakeholders.

Gartec Limited is the market leader in the platform lift industry offering supply, install and service activities to commercial and domestic buildings. Aritco UK Limited meanwhile offer sales and after market support to UK business and End Users to facilitate unit sales on behalf of its Swedish based manufacturer. Together the UK entities make up 55% of the UK market with combined unit sales in excess of 1,200-unit sales per annum. I was brought into the business as part of the SMT to devise and deliver its transformation and sales & marketing strategy, to maximise the exit for the PE investors, Credility Capital. To achieve this the SMT used sporting principles to create a culture of teamship, reward and opportunities. This created a platform for internal stakeholders to grow and develop their careers. Our sales strategy doubled turnover and quadrupled EBITDA over a period of 4 years which was supported by entering new markets and margin growth. Over the course of 3 years' spares turnover grew 3 fold and domestic market sales grew from start up to £1.2m.

I headed a team of 8 staff covering AP, AR, payroll, inter-company, VAT, corporation tax, cash flow and treasury management, financial reporting, and FP&A. I successfully dealt with the contract for a top four grocer. I covered for the financial controller when on leave and contributed to the annual budgets/weekly forecasts. After completing my degree, I completed a work experience placement with Saffery Champness in the Bristol Office. The firm offered me a training contract with the ICAEW institute where I primarily worked in the audit division focusing on; manufacturing, sports/media, tourist enterprises, AIM listed companies, retail, private client, and partnerships.Having played club rugby I was fortunate enough to have been hired by Saffery Champness to work for the client Premier Rugby Limited and Premier Rugby's Salary Cap during my time there. Saffery Champness is the UK's 12th largest accountancy firm with a broad client base and a tradition of working with high net worth individuals and sports/media enterprises.
