The principal duties of my current role include the maintenance and operation of a gas fuelled power generation compound. As a Gas site Operations and Maintenance Engineer, day to day duties include the maintenance and repair of 12 generators located on an allocated site, ensuring that the service and warranty repairs are carried out as required by the company’s operations manual and allow access to site for 3rd Party Contractors.In addition to these duties I am also required to attend additional sites on an ad-hoc basis to arrange planned and unplanned maintenance for additional sub-contractors.

Responsible for operating engines and generators and performing maintenance tasks on equipment used for power generation. To carry out and improve the effectiveness of all scheduled work whilst reacting quickly to unscheduled breakdowns.Operating, performing maintenance tasks and fault finding on power generation and gas process plant to include but not limited to landfill gas-powered generators, gas pumping, flaring equipment and associated plant. Equipped with the skills and equipment to diagnose and derive root cause and fully resolve problems. Using engineering skills carry out repairs to gen-sets and equipment using onsite workshops whenever possible. Carry out weekly checks on site equipment and plant including flares, exhausts and buildings. To be able to perform the required tasks safely and confidently in and around high voltage equipment. Supervise outside contractors and fully understand HSQE procedures. Record all work on the company’s computer based time and asset management system and complete electronic reports.

Working on the Royal Navy Merlin helicopter fleet on and off shore, to carry out scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, periodic maintenance, flight servicing, fault rectification and recording whilst carrying out strict tool control procedures. Carry out inspection on the aircraft whilst working at height. To supervise part 2B naval trainees and work experience students. Continue to develop sea survival skills including first aid and fire fighting through attendance of annual courses. Fully trained member of the squadrons helicopter load lifting and weapon loading teams.
