I worked with material suppliers and cross divisional teams to support the development of a new manufacturing area and product on site. Additionally I oversaw the approval of a $1 Million refrigeration improvement project on site and worked closely with a cross functional team to approve the design and then select a suitable contractor for the work.

Engineering Manager - Tlp
As part of my graduate training program I was appointed as the Engineering team manager for the Primary Incubation Unit. My responsibilities revolved around the maintenance of GMP equipment, budget and team management. It was the responsibility of the engineering team to maintain and repair GMP critical equipment which was processing millions of dollars’ worth of product, within this I was required to detail and assign critical maintenance work and to organise with the production staff for engineering shut down work to be completed. Whilst in the role the engineering team consisted of two full time engineering technicians who reported directly to me. Furthermore during my time as engineer team manager I instigated a number of innovation improvements around the electrical safety on site and the engineering cover provided to the department. I was responsible for the engineering budget as the team manager to use on improvements, maintenance contacts and spare parts. During my time in the role I was able to reduce the amount spent on spares by using different suppliers and improved contacts with maintenance suppliers. With two engineers within the team I developed full training plans for each engineer dependent on their requirements and skill levels and was able to develop training packages with internal departments and external contractors. I also undertook a performance review with both engineers to help identify areas for development within the frame work of the Novartis PMP system.
