I was interested in a job with more responsibility, and decided to work with Kings Transport.In my current role as Personnel Manager, I aim to lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented; high performance culture. I am responsible for the recruitment and ongoing development of our drivers. I need to liaise with a wide range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety. I also need to perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with disputes, and administering disciplinary procedures.I have a very strong safety focus, and I encourage safe work practices, conduct tool box meetings, and look to achieve positive OH&S outcomes.

I had never worked in Refrigerated Transport before and was looking for a new and exciting challenge. Toll Intermodal is a freight transport partner of choice, offering end-to-end road , rail and coastal shipping together with an extensive range of line-haul equipment, and has several high profile customers which include Woolworths and Coles. My role involved the transportation of Meat/Produce/Confectionery to all corners of Queensland. Daily duties were coordinating time-slots, completing admin duties, planning and allocating pick-up and delivery tasks and ensuring clear and effective two way communication is maintained with the fleet at all times. I also needed to ensure all Toll Group OHS Policies were followed.

My role involved proactively managing e a team of approximately 100 people including drivers, data entry clerks, and supervisors.My aim was to constantly improve working procedures to maximize profit and reduce costs. I demonstrated this by overseeing the installation of the new scanning system on the loading dock, which reduced labour costs in busy times. I was also involved in the replanning of our delivery area which involved meetings with Directors both Regional and National to make sure all variables were discussed and planned for.I was also required to action any escalated customer complaints/enquiries within agreed timescales, and ensure all health and safety paperwork was completed and filed as per procedure.
