I have been engaged in drafting, opposing and advising and providing advocacy on legal costs for over 30 years and been a qualified mediator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators for 8 of those. I have been instructed on numerous large costs cases in a very broad range of disciplines from Personal Injury to Commercial matters for both paying and receiving parties. Whilst Deputy Head of Costs Litigation at NeoLaw/DWF I was entrusted with advising on and drafting the dispute documentation and/or bills of costs for multi-million pound litigations and Group Litigations reporting in to global insurance organisations and senior partners of large law firms. I have always been central to the budgeting process for my clients and recognise the crucial importance that getting that correct now plays in modern litigations. In April 2019 I set up SJC resolve to independently continue this work, alongside growing the mediation service, and have been rewarded with various instructions from existing and new clients to draft bills of costs and assess/advise paying parties in much the same disciplines as I always have. What I take pride in above all else, is providing sensible and realistic advice to clients to assist them in resolving the issue(s) as costs and time efficiently as possible.
