Part of the senior management team I manage Sigma’s national DC and have responsibility and accountability for the site, team performance and safety standards across Australia, all labour and transport activity – including team training and continuous improvement projects and management of 3PL partners to ensure service delivery to our standards. I engage regularly with Kmart and shop fitters to ensure they receive the best service possible and to identify additional opportunities for process, planning and safety improvements.Accountabilities/AchievementsImplementation• I managed the implementation of the DC, and all associated services.• Resource plan developed and delivered to Kmart’s required timeline including sourcing and training of all staff. • Liaised with Kmart and the Shop Fitter to ensure their needs were met and achieved by taking away legacy issues and ‘pain points’, and spending time at sites to understand their needs as customers of our service. Results• Financial saving of $2.1m in stock ordering by clearing 3PL sites • Manage a $4.2m annual budget delivering savings of $1.4m in Freight and Storage by improving space utilisation• DIFOT achieved at 99.8% exceeding Kmart’s expectation and KPIs Won the prestigious “Supplier Of The Year” Award with Kmart• Safety for the business in Australia, Cert IV qualified. All external audits have delivered an outcome of 98% or greater.Continuous Improvement• Visited China and worked with the manufacturers to assess packaging and pallets to reduce waste, resulting in waste reduction of 70%• Implemented Continuous Improvement processes with the team, enabling me to improve what is in my control and by constantly reviewing and changing working practices that are not adding value• Managing 3PL operations across Australia and NZ• Our business is certified to ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Standards, I have a good understanding of all these practises

I was employed as charge hand for a new DC where I learnt all aspects of warehousing and worked in all departments of the DC. After 2 years I was promoted to Supervisor and also assisted in opening another new DC. I was then promoted to Shift Manager where I had full accountability of 1 shift in a 24/7 operation.
