Stuart Dack is a past Chief Executive Officer and now Executive Project Manager at AustStab Limited – the Australian Pavement Recycling and Stabilisation Association – creating sustainable roads for future generations. Established in 1995, AustStab provides education and works collaboratively with industry partners to encourage technical research, development and application of pavement stabilisation and recycling.Stuart has over 38 years’ experience in the road construction and maintenance industry, mainly associated with the development, manufacture and marketing of bituminous products in Australia and Europe, including bitumen emulsion, polymer modified binder and bituminous slurry surfacing technologies. Prior to joining the road construction and maintenance industry, Stuart was involved in petroleum product development, brown coal research, and research and development of commercial bulk explosives for the mining industry and has several publications and patents arising from this research work.Stuart is an active participant in broader road industry activities through the Australian flexible Pavement Association (AfPA), the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) and Austroads and is a member of Standards Australia Committee CH-025 (bitumen and related products).Stuart is a Chartered Chemist and a member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI).
