Initially worked in the communications field (radio and television) for four years after graduation.Was then seconded (by AECI) to ICI Petrochemicals division Wilton Works in the UK for two years.Then spent about 20+ years in project execution at AECI Consulting Engineering Department (this later became AECI Engineering) in Johannesburg. During this period I was involved in a large variety of chemical process e.g. VCM, PVC, Cyanide, Ammonia, Chlorine, Boilers and Steam Turbine and petrochemical plants i.e Natref plus explosive plants e.g. Detonators and Fuse at AECI factories located at Modderfontein and Sasolburg in South Africa.More recently (since 2000) have worked at Bateman (then Tenova Bateman and SGS Bateman) on a large number of feasibility studies and execution projects in the mining field. Mining execution projects completed in Tenova Bateman include those for Diamonds, Phosphate, Iron Ore and Zinc.Retired in Oct 2016.
