I have worked within the Oil and Gas industry on instruments and process control systems for nearly 30 years, becoming experienced in many areas of engineering. I have a comprehensive understanding of the physics and mathematics of Oil and Gas flows including Multiphase flows, as well as specialised control systems like Blending, Sampling and Metering.I have very extensive experience and knowledge of both software and hardware system design. I am particularly experienced in developing with the C language in low-level hardware and embedded real-time systems using real-time operating systems like RTX, μC-OS/II and OS-9.

Software team organisation, including staff development, appraisal and recruitment.2. Working closely with Hardware engineers to design, develop, test and bring up boards.3. Embedded real-time development using C and numerous real-time operating systems and device driver development including serial (SPIO, UARTS), block devices (DMA) and Flash.4. Designing and presenting training courses to external customers and internal staff.5. Developing and analysing specifications, working co-operatively using source control tools, low-level hardware programming, user interface development and embedded web development6. Developed numerous SCADA and PLC systems, and assisted with site DCS integration Engineering knowledge includes calculations, fluid dynamics and industrial controls like PID controls. Instrument knowledge of pressure meters, flow meters, densitometers, viscometers, gas chromatographs, water-in-oil meters, multiphase meters and sulphur analysers (X-ray fluorescence).Cameron merged with Schlumberger on the 1st of April 2016.

The software was engineered using mainly the C language along with some 68000 assembler code for firmware drivers as well as 8051 for some embedded controllers.The prior generations of controllers were known as the JR8/4 8bit controller, the LCC 8bit controller and the MCC 16/32bit a 68070-based controller. The MCC controller used the OS-9 operating system and was the basis for the InSight controller development.Technical lead for the StarCut multiphase meter developed in conjunction with Texaco systems in Houston.
