He also has extensive industry experience in corporate communications, brand development, startup, business mergers and acquisitions. He began his entertainment career as a producer, production manager and 1st AD on feature films, TV, music videos and TV commercials. As co-founder and CEO of Harmony Pictures, He produced the TV ad work of internationally recognized directors including Robert Lieberman, Haskell Wexler, Vilmos Zigmond, Micky Dolenz, Chris Menges, Adrian Lyne, Alan Daviau, Ethan Russell and Peter Bogdonovitch and other well-known TV commercial directors. The Harmony team earned every major award in the industry including more than 20 Clios, the Cannes Gold Lion, The NY film festival, Museum of Modern Art/AICP “Best of…” The Director’s Guild of America Award etc. Harmony worked with Fortune 500 marketing execs and their ad agencies to produce television advertising. Clients included most of the world’s major advertisers and agencies. He executed the industry's first IPO for a TV commercial production company. He expanded Harmony Holdings into six production subsidiaries by acquisition, start up and grew revenues to make Harmony one of the largest production companies of its kind in the world. Gross also developed TV and motion picture projects with partner Micky Dolenz at Harmony and at Warner Bros. He was CEO of Scala Computer Television, a worldwide media technology company that developed and deployed groundbreaking media software applications. He revitalized Scala’s creative product and raised funding to stabilize operations worldwide. Scala operated in 9 countries and the U.S. He was founder, CEO of the ITV Company Random/Order, an experimental workshop for early interactive TV content. Red Herring Mag named Random/Order “top twenty companies” in new media. He has been an entertainment industry speaker and panelist on media production, technology and content at most of the digital forums and the NAB. Today, Gross and Axel Media are a resource for small to medium size business in media, entertainment, communications and other creative verticals for addressing strategic issues including growth and liquidity. He brokers business sales, mergers and acquisitions for these clients when they are ready.
