Employed as the Reservoir Safety Engineer at SSE since 2008. Responsible for the co-ordination of reservoir safety issues ensuring that all Reservoirs Act requirements are complied with on SSE’s stock of 77 reservoirs in Scotland. Includes the supervision of 21 reservoirs under the Reservoirs (Scotland) Act 2011. Undertaking inspections of tunnels and penstocks which are a critical part of the hydro schemes. Regularly provide guidance and inputs to hydrological and hydraulic issues as necessary, and contribute to work to identify improvements to increase the volume / value of water captured water from our catchments.

Employed as a Graduate Engineer at Babtie Group in 1997 and progressed to Principal Engineer, working primarily in the dams and reservoir section. I was involved in a varied range of reservoir and associated work, including flood, water resource and asset management assessments.
