Aircraft Operations Manager driving the performance of the function on a shift basis, supporting the Aircraft Turn Leads. Focussing on delivery of the core KPI metrics and working in partnership with the Planning Manager in order to continually improve our service through data and insight.

Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO), Head of Training ensuring personnel are suitably trained for their job role. Producing and maintaining a spreadsheet database, that shows stats to enable to see who is qualified and to maintain the currency level.

I was senior training instructor out of 14. My role was to ensure training and orders where upheld, providing essential vehicle driver training to all ranks on station so they could carry out their job role. Act as office manager and stand in for the Senior Training Manager when required.

My job changed several times; first I was Airfield Support Mechanical Transport (ASMT) Controller. My role was to ensure all airfield tasks are were completed from refuelling to catering, tasking up to 42 staff. Then I was the Fleet Manager maintaining 125 vehicles, ensuring servicing and vehicle husbandry was upheld. I was then trained as a mobile Crane and Appointed Lifting Operator (APLO), this involved driving and operating crane tasks, also writing the Risk Assessments and Lifting procedures for each task on Station. Lastly I headed up a new department Assurance Cell, developing spreadsheets. Ensuring all personnel data was maintained making sure the right qualifications and currency levels were upheld, ranging from ADR to driver qualifications. Also looked after Quality Audit visits, ascertaining if policy was being upheld throughout the workplace. This role led me to gain Acting Senior Manager for 6 months.

As a newly promoted Junior Non-Commissioned Officer (JNCO), I worked in the Deployment Cell controlling our Green Fleet. Maintaining their servicing pattern and ensuring vehicles were deployed out on Operations, Exercises or Training. I then moved across to MT Control, where I took over the detailing of tasks and planning. Detailing appropriate vehicles to the correct tasks at hand, also when required supplying drivers to carry out the tasks all over the UK and Europe. I then became qualified as a Driving Licence Acquisition Instructor, passing on my skills and knowledge to train personnel in driving PCV and HGV Class one and two.
