I am currently an assistant project manager for a multi utilities company called Energetics. I have been in this role for over 2 years and have gained a great deal of knowledge about the utilities sector. I have worked with all three utilities: Gas, Water and Electric and guided teams and site managers with the delivery and installation of such utilities. I have collaborated with DNOs such as Scottish Power, SSE, SGN and Scottish Water. Furthermore, I have also worked with many subcontractors dealing with Road Permits, Traffic Management, Plant Hire, Materials etc.I have worked on multiple projects dealing with all types of residential, commercial and industrial building projects for a variety of different developers. I am always looking to push myself and learn more about the sector and other technologies which will play a massive role in shaping our future energy needs as we head towards being carbon neutral.Previous to this role, I worked at Screwfix as a retail assistant. I dealt with the public and trade customers, providing knowledge of products. I also completed the company management course. I also graduated from the University of Glasgow with a 2:1 Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 2020. During my studies, I completed my final year project, studying marine fouling effects on the surface of a turbine blade. My project aim was to determine the aerodynamic impact of marine fouling that was placed at varying chord-wise locations using CAD modelling (solid works) to design simulation models to be used in a CFD software (STAR CCM+). Furthermore, I studied and acquired experience in using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software packages, which I have used in various projects. Additional to this, I have studied various areas of engineering such as Fluid Mechanics and Dynamics, Structural Mechanics and Renewable and Sustainable Engineering to name but a few.Aside from my work, I have two hobbies, volleyball and golf. In terms of volleyball, I currently compete with the Scotland Men’s National Volleyball Team and Su Ragazzi Volleyball Club. During my time with these teams, I have won numerous team and individual awards with my biggest achievement coming in 2014 where I won Gold and received an individual honour with the Scotland U20 Men’s squad at the European Championships.
