As the Track & Structures Delivery Manager I was overall responsible for the Safety, Compliance and Maintenance of over 1000 Kilometres of Track and over 21,000 Structures whilst also delivering the Annual Infrastructure Work Bank for Renewals with a portfolio budget in the region of $100m per year. I led a strong and Safety focused Team of over 220 split across three depots in Melbourne who pride their selves on the Safety of their Passengers and Colleagues.

Track Partnership was an alliance between London Underground and Balfour Beatty for the delivery of their track renewals workbank and capital directorate projects.In the role of Construction Manager I was responsible for all construction activities associated with a project, ensuring the successful delivery of effective construction methodologies and providing the most economic solution to the client whilst introducing the most up to date modern technology to enable timely deliveries.I was able to introduce modern Switch & Crossing delivery methods such as the use of Kirow rail cranes and the PEM / LEMs with absolute confidence in millimetre perfection install.During my time at Track Partnership I was heavily involved in many firsts, such as:- Feb 2014: Installation of the first modular switch & crossing layout installed at Ruislip. This was also the first ever site on London Underground to be subjected to level 3 stressing (stressing of S&C)- December 2015: Installation of the first set of modular scissors (nationally), this was built loose due to the lack of modular wagons or a Kirow at this time- September 2016: Installation of LU's first ever check curve on concrete bearers which was installed at FarringdonFurther Switch & Crossing Renewals and End State Layout Projects delivered on time and within budget include Ruislip Jn (4x Modular Units – First of type for LU using Kirow 810), Ealing Common (installation of 7No. concrete units using a Kirow 250), Earls Court West Jn (5 x Modular Units and 400m associated ballasted track renewal including concrete sleepers with rubber pads), Royal Oak,(2 x Modular units using PEM / LEMs), Neasden South Jn (14 x modular units over 5 weekend 48hr campaigns – first for type on TBTC track all using the Kirow 810) and Kings Cross Scissors crossover (first modular scissors installed in the UK rail industry).

In this position my role was to deliver individual projects in a safe & environmentally responsible manner to time, cost and quality in accordance with the asset management process, current legislation and procedure.Provide a professional, consistent and effective project management service including the use of performance indicators and project reporting systems.Manage tactical change and risks within the project life cycle for allocated schemes.Monitor the provision of a safe working environment in the execution of managed work.Manage the production of project management plans, project budgets within agreed targets, deliver regular progress reports on change projects, including relevant risks and issues to the programme manager.Manage the delivery contractor so that they have a clear understanding of what is required within each project.S+C Renewal Projects Delivered on time and within budget include Horsforth (4 S+C units including 300m of associated plain line), Immingham East Jn (abandonment of 12 S+C units and renewed 6 units), Rotherham Masborough Jn (4 S+C units and 200m of associated plain line), Colton North Jn ( 2 x SG 65mph crossovers), Colton Jn (2 x 125mph ‘H’ turnouts including switch diamonds including 400m of associated plain line) and Scunthorpe West Jn (8 S+C units). My portfolio also included the re-opening of the Doncaster to Wrawby line following the Hatfield Colliery land slip which consisted of 5000m of plain line track renewal and 2 x S+C units.

This role was a continuation, following the end of Jarvis Rail and the inception of Babcock Rail.Roles and Responsibilities:Work with London North Eastern integrated management switch and crossing renewals team to deliver renewals using the end to end process. This involves taking ownership of a job and managing that site from the T-52 (within the preparation phase) to the core works (Execution Phase) up to Taking over certificate T+12 (Completion Phase).Take responsibility for track geometry for LNE S&C Renewals including application of design geometry on site and survey, design and application of poor localised geometry in order to bring track to parameters set out in RT/CE/S/102 Network Rails Track Construction Standard.Work alongside the Senior Supervisor and manage the technical and supervisory support provided.Monitor technical compliance is adhered to on all projects.Ensure all technical staff complete works in compliance with contractual specification and Network Rail group standards.Attend all necessary stage gates ensuring that all sites are managed and can pass without any hesitance from us as contractors.Manage the planning and preparation of technical specific tasks in relation to track renewals.Production of design drawings in accordance with contract specifications.Adherence to the Asset Management Process which lays out the procedure for deliverance of documents related to the application and recording of site work.Ensure the provision of WPP, task brief, bar chart and technical packs as well as other site specific site documentation.Give guidance and support to junior technical staff.Maintain performance for safety, volume and cost.Embrace existing and emerging technologies.
