I am the Director of a new social enterprise that aims to help talented disadvantaged students gain equal opportunity to access competitive Higher Education or Apprenticeships. I have been involved in Sixth Form education for nearly 20 years and have successfully led a consistently “Outstanding” Sixth Form in Essex for the majority of those where my skills of developing trusted relationships, transformational leadership and inspirational public speaking led to positive outcomes. Through my roles as Director of Sixth Form, Assistant Headteacher and Associate Deputy Headteacher, I have developed very successful support programmes for university and apprenticeship progression through empowering collaboration, a number of which have been adopted by other schools.Having worked with a diverse range of schools, Russell Group universities and the University Admissions Service (UCAS) on various projects, I have a wealth of experience which will allow me to support students from underprivileged backgrounds who are often both financially and culturally deprived, and do not receive the same level of support when it comes to university and apprenticeship applications. My experience of mentoring hundreds of students through this process is invaluable in helping students to reach their aspirational goals.To ensure that I am abreast of any changes in the university or apprenticeship system I have maintained part-time employment in a successful state school Sixth Form as a UCAS expert and teacher of Economics and Politics.

During my directorship the Sixth Form was consistently judged as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted and developed a highly respected university and apprenticeship programme that successfully placed students in highly competitive institutions both in the UK and internationally. It was also noted for the quality of its pastoral care as I placed a significant emphasis on the well-being of my students.
