After the successful implementation of Global Risk Management Systems and due to increased company exposure to it's vastly growing Membership Rewards (company loyalty program) capital reserve requirement, transitioned into the finance organization at leadership's request to convert and expand an Excel-based system into SAS enabling the company to predict Membership Rewards activity and redemption rates across 26 idiosyncratic and diverse international markets. Data files exceeded one billion records to be processed and analyzed on a monthly basis. Completely re-wrote the existing code into a small suite of clear, concise, efficient and well documented SAS programs.Introduced a formal data validation system to ensure the integrity of input data upon its delivery and throughout its processing.Proactively built audit controls/reporting that pre-empted Sarbanes Oxley and met its ensuing requirements.Introduced macro code to process each market individually from within common programs.Expediently resolved (non-data related) Level 1 SOX deficiency for which formal commendation was received.Worked remotely and flexibly throughout several time zones with colleagues located globally to efficiently achieve projects' objectives.Refined data-drilling techniques to resolve data issues, regardless of their obscurity.Created a suite of MIS reporting programs for Web publishing.

Relocated to the US at the company's request to assume responsibility for expanding the Unified Risk Management methodology into a customer based Global Risk Management System. Initiated the project from inception and became key contributor in its development and evolution from conception through implementation and expansion.Reengineered a non-functional DB2 database into a SAS-based system that delivered results. Collapsed the large sample data into 10% of its original size with no loss of integrity.Collaborated with and supported a diverse and demanding group of specialists from many nationalities and cultures to design, test and implement systems functionality.Engineered many of the system's innovative core programs.

Invited to join a newly-formed UK based, international group in American Express's first foray into statistical based Risk Management. Responsible for creating a completely new SAS-based system of programs to process the entire UK Card member portfolio and calculate: Prob-T (probability that an individual Transaction would not be paid),Prob-A (probability that a current account would hit 90 days), Prob-F (that a particular transaction would be fraudulent). Collaborated with and advised technologies team in bringing this code into production for which an exemplary formal company rating was received.Eliminated the 'Gauss' problem of calculating concordant pairs outside of SAS.

Created Card and new product acquisition strategies and targeted mailing campaigns.Processed external data from multiple sources including a multitude of small but diverse 'bought list files', very large government census files, post office address files and a wide variety of other raw data to create modeling variables.Supported marketing executives in brainstorming sessions to formulate new modeling variables.Supported econometricians in identifying and creating significant variables for statistical models to calculate "response" and "approval" probabilities.Analysed results of mailing campaigns to determine return on investment.Tracked results and reported profitability and attrition rates and a host of other loyalty metrics.
