The driving motivation in my creative process is a focus on queer-centric design. I work beyond the gender binary which opens my designs to experiment with body types and silhouettes on a personal level with clients. I've been successful in completing my fashion studies during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has posed serious challenges in facility and teaching staff accessibility. My aim is to branch out my skills into small-scale design, and curatorial boutique store work.The most rewarding skills I've gained from my studies come from the culmination of textile, sewing, digital, and pattern making designs to create unique, original garments and bodies of work. My creativity has thrived around my textile work, creating screen prints and digital fabric prints, experimenting with needle and nuno wool felting, and experimenting with the process of creating sustainable natural dyes. My sewing designs and pattern making skills have been amplified through digital processes, with print designs and trade sketches created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and digital pattern making in Gerber AccuMark CAD.Prior to commencing my fashion studies, I completed a Bachelor of Commerce at UWA majoring in Marketing and Management. I plan to put the skills gained across both fields of study to good use for the right company, gaining industry experience and following my own inclusive creative practices.
