My current role at ACDI is deliver the ‘STEP Youth’ programme; weekly youth club sessions aimed at local 8-12 year-olds. This involves planning engaging creative activities, supporting volunteers and monitoring budgets.Before I began working at ACDI, I volunteered with the British Red Cross, doing a range of admin. tasks. I made the most of the opportunities available to volunteers such as being part of the Inspired Action project for young volunteers. This opened up more opportunities for me to develop my skills. I also took part in a range of training courses, letting me learn new things. I earned my 500 hours Saltire Award, in recognition of my commitment to my role.I studied Business at UWS, choosing to go to my local campus in Ayr. This followed on from completing my HNC/D in Business Management at college. This built on my interest in business subjects I gained at school, where I received the Business Education Award and took part in business-themed challenges and workshops. In the early years of secondary school, the subjects and projects where I brought out my inquisitive side and researched information then presented the findings creatively received special recognition.In my spare time, I enjoy learning new things by reading or via podcasts/videos. I also like to express my creativity through hand lettering, digital graphics, playing the keyboard, drawing and cooking.
