After six months my hard work and commitment were rewarded with promotion to Project Engineer. As part of my new role I was trained to use 2D and 3D CAD (Pro Engineer), my continued commitment and new skills managing projects were recognised and rewarded with promotion to Project Coordinator. My first project was to coordinate the manufacture of two chassis' for the Panoz 1999 Le Mans campaign, keeping the client informed on progress, negotiating an agreed delivery schedule with sub-contractors and ensuring they kept to the agreed dates. This was a particularly challenging project because of the tight deadline. To my credit both chassis were delivered on time and I was rewarded with a performance bonus. With my increased level of experience in managing projects I transferred to DPS Composite Aerospace to work on a 1st Class Cabin interior project. My role within the aerospace division continued to develop my project management skills. I continued with my role of customer liaison on production progress, whilst taking on the additional responsibility of advising the clients design team on manufacturing feasibility. As the business continued to expand I was promoted to Senior Composite Design Engineer with the added responsibility for two design engineers.
