I am a qualified Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) with over 25 years experience advising individuals and families in financial matters. For much of this time I have specialised in later life affairs and I was among the first advisers in the UK to receive the Later Life Accreditation (LLAA) in 2010 from the Society Of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA). I am also the West Midlands regional coordinator for SOLLA which covers the area from my home county of Gloucestershire up to Shropshire. This includes a state benefit entitlement check along with guidance to take into account the legal obligations of the local authority under the 2014 Care Act. Care Funding strategies include the consideration of Immediate Needs Annuity plans as well as comparisons between cash/investments for care funding and where appropriate possible use of Equity Release to enable clients to remain in their own home.
