I started in optical effects in 1978 and worked my way up to Visual Effects Supervisor / Miniatures unit Director of Photography over a varied number of projects. I gained Directing experience via effects units and second unit but my first solo directing opportunity came during the production of Dream Street (CITV), where I took over in the absence of the main Director.I have worked as DoP and Motion Control cameraman on numerous animation productions. As the managing director of Arkadon Visual Effects I also oversaw and produced several animated commercials. As the CEO of Annix Studios Ltd, I expanded my production experience on Scragg n'​ Bones and Little Charley Bear (Cbeebies).I have extensive knowledge of both traditional (stop-frame) and CG animation processes along with pre / post production requirements, budgeting, spreadsheets and scheduling.Incidentally - I ran Carnell Software Ltd., back in the infancy of computer games with the No.1 chart topping "Black Crystal". Because this particular game was spread over several programs we claim to be the great granddaddies of needing a key-code to get to the next level!
