Reporting to the Chancellor, this role provides leadership and oversight for the division and will coordinate compliance of student-related policies across all units with state and federal regulations in a consistent manner.The role includes:• Staffing the Board of Trustees Campus Life and Student Success Committee, serve as a member of the Chancellor's cabinet, oversee the Division of Student Affairs, and work closely with student services in the graduate and professional schools.• Work closely with the Chancellor and the Provost, as well as key stakeholders, to create innovative programs, continue to shape the culture and reach out to the Denver community and beyond to create an educational experience of leadership, innovation, and service to the public good for all students. Partner to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion in the student experience.• Collaborate closely with the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. Academic Affairs supports co-curricular innovation, academic rigor, and experiential and community-engaged learning in the following university-wide programs: Center for Community Engagement to advance Scholarship and Learning (CCESL), the Pioneer Leadership Program, the Living & Learning Communities, the University Honors Program, Boettcher Scholars, the Undergraduate Research Center, and the University Writing Program.• Work with the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment to assist students transitioning to the University and ensuring their persistence to graduation. The Enrollment division, which consists of Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid offices, seeks to enroll a diverse, ethical, and intellectually vibrant student body that can be successful at the University of Denver.• Work closely with the Vice Chancellor of Advancement as a key partner in fundraising and will have a strong partnership with Career & Professional Development collaborating with the 4D Experience team and working to embed the 4D across the University.

The Associate Vice Chancellor for the James C. Kennedy Mountain Campus, Wellness, and Recreation at the University of Denver (AVC) reports directly to Chancellor Jeremy Haefner and is a member of his leadership cabinet. The AVC will be responsible for the leadership, supervision, business development, financial management, evaluation, and overall day-to-day operations—including crisis, emergency, and risk management—of a comprehensive university facility in a remote mountain setting and for wellness and recreation programs in the urban setting. Championing the 4D student experience and expanding the auxiliary revenue capacity of the Kennedy Mountain Campus will be important priorities for the position.

Halsall was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the Division of Athletics and Recreation at the University of Denver in September of 2019. His responsibilities include: NCAA Men's and Women's Soccer, Women's Gymnastics, and Men's and Women's Golf; University of Denver Golf Club, Recreation, Ritchie Center Events, Technology, Facility Scheduling and Operations, Facility Construction, and Special Projects.

Led and managed a comprehensive athletics and recreation program including securing two NCAA championships in Hockey and Skiing. Coordinated all conference and NCAA relationships as well as the operations of the 440,000 sf Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness.

Managed the student programs for the University of Denver as well as developing the adult sports program, youth activity programming, and worked on the opening of the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness.

Bring economic development and vitality to Denver through attracting international and national sporting events. Serve on the events committee to assess, evaluate and recommend bids for Denver Sports.
