By advising internally and externally on the most appropriate routes for knowledge exchange including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP), consultancy, collaborative R&D, contract research, courses, licensing and spin out, and liaising with other teams where opportunities for student KE (including live briefs, student projects, placements and internships) I support the knowledge exchange opportunities arising from the research and teaching expertise in Art, Media, Humanities and Social Science at the University.I work to identify, initiate, broker and draw out maximum value for all involved from relationships between Art, Media, Humanities and Social Sciences academics and key non HEI regional, national & international stakeholders.

I have a wide knowledge of key funding sources relevant to research and enterprise and a track record of developing productive cross sectoral partnerships for external funding between the University and external stakeholders, grounded with a solid grasp of the policy, practice and funding challenges facing higher education in England, the EU and internationally.Covering more than half of the University's disciplinary focus, I have track record of initiating and delivering successful cross discipline, innovative, pan-institutional initiatives and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships in higher education. Led on building links between areas of key research expertise across the university, with a particular focus on the Global Challenge Research Fund.Managed a portfolio of research grant proposals, playing a significant role in maximising the university’s success with obtaining research funding.Developed and implement the effective systems for maximising the volume and quality of research grant proposals. Managed the process of interpreting complex information to enable the university to respond to and act on funding opportunities and meeting funder requirements for collaborative research grants.

Composed and maintained environmental policy, ensure sustainable sourcing of raw materials and implemented practices to achieve and maintain ISO: 9001 quality management and ISO: 14001 environmental management. Designed custom units and related moulds and components using CAD programs (solidworks/sketch-up) and produced production reports/bill of quantities for in- house and subcontracted manufacture.Solved technical problems and produced drawing packages, including hybrid designs involving concrete, timber and steel fabrications for assembly and detail reinforcement/fixing/lifting/delivery of units.Formulated specific concrete mix chemistry to realise desired aesthetic, structural and environmental requirements within budget. Liaised with customers/clients and managed shop floor team to ensure delivery deadline and critical paths are met. Regularly met with suppliers and attended trade shows to source the best products at the best prices for use in manufacture. Managed and wrote up robust Quality Assurance documents for clients (temperature records, concrete strength test results from subcontracted lab).

Managed and led a team of 26 shop floor factory and office staff. Managed all aspects of the factory process from raw material sourcing to final delivery of finished product.

Developed new supply chain procedures to reduce cost and improve sourcing of raw materials and where possible standardise bought in components.Liaised with manufacturing advisory service to improve production flow and investigate renewable/sustainable energy solutions.
