A strong programmer with a hybrid skill set coming from 15 years in industry and 10 years in education as a teacher of Computer ScienceIn industry I evidenced strong C#, Java and Pick skills with good exposure in other variations such as C, C++, JavaScript, PHP etc. A broad exposure to most languages and technologies like .NET, COM, J2EE and XML/XSL means I can rapidly become competent in most software engineering situations. Strong problem finding skills also means I am excellent at debugging problems.My industry specialties were around Globus/T24 with specific experience in the Browser technologies for which I was a key team member in the development team.As a teacher I have become a leading technical expert in the Computer Science field where I have achieved progress results in the top 1% of the country and been an advisor on GCSE/A-Level specification content. I have also worked as an exam author and senior examiner for OCR and had books and other resources published by leading national education publishers. During my time as a teacher I also made sure my programming skills were well honed through teaching and personal projects. I taught Python and C# including advanced skills such as client/server, multi threading and MVVM architecture, mentoring students to produce highly detailed Year 13 projects. Personal projects also included a visual IDE and interpreter for a cut down version of ARM assembler used for the AQA A-Level, A computer model of the MENACE AI for playing noughts and crosses and maths simulator for showing complex number convergence/divergence and the Mandelbrot/Julia sets.
