Squirrel finds the best prices from the most relevant retailers in the reader’s local currency. During my time at Pocket-lint I found that editorial teams have plenty to deal with without having to worry about also having to research pricing data in both local and international currencies.I created Squirrel to help solve that problem. The platform has access to hundreds of millions of products in its database, checks for the latest prices every 2 to 4 hours, and matches products to each other locally and globally. Squirrel works to make affiliate marketing simple and efficient via an e-commerce widget that publishers can use on their site, an API to access the Squirrel database, or via consumer facing deals recommendations at getsquirrel.co/deals.• Designed User Experience (UX) for the dashboard interface and publisher facing widgets. • Work across all aspects of the business managing sales, development, design, and partnerships. • Responsible for development and feature road map.

In 2003 I started Pocket-lint with a budget of just £15 and successfully exited the business in July 2022 after almost 20 years. During that time Pocket-lint grew to be a leading authority within the UK and US consumer tech scene with over 12 million readers a month. Over the years I have questioned or interviewed several leading tech industry figures including Steve Jobs, Steve Ballmer, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Tim Cook, Jack Dorsey and many CEOs and founders. I’ve attended numerous events being at the very epicentre of the tech industry for over two decades. During my time at Pocket-lint I was regularly quoted in UK national newspapers, websites from around the world, and on TV and radio. Designer / writer working on various departments around the paper (Play / The Eye), as well as being part of the daily team responsible for the look and feel of the whole paper on a daily basis.Highlights included working on the last edition of the broadsheet paper and working on the back bench - the desk that is responsible for the creation of the newspaper every day.

I was the PR Account Manager for the Olympus account at Herald Communications covering digital cameras, silver halide (35mm film) and voice recorders. Highlights included running the UK national launch campaign for the mju 5 camera as well as organising several press events in both the UK and Europe.

I was a freelance writer writing for a number of PC and gaming titles including PC Pro, PC Magazine, Amazon amongst others, as well as a number of corporate briefs including work for Harrods, LG, and Vodafone.

I was the features editor for ComputerActive. The number one selling computer title in the UK at the time. I was responsible for all feature articles in the magazine. I was made redundant as part of a cost cutting exercise that saw 20% of VNU workforce let go in one week.

I joined Amazon four years after the company was founded to be part of the launch team for the video games tab in the UK. Until that point Amazon only sold books, CDs, and DVDs.

I worked on Inter//face, the technology supplement, both as a designer and writer, as well as, other supplements and sections in the paper.
