I’m passionate about research, analysis, and evidence-based policy, having honed my skills across academia, communications, and public policy.I communicate complicated concepts and detailed information clearly, concisely, and persuasively. I have well-developed analytical skills and wide experience of writing to the highest standards for diverse audiences including leading academic journals and national newspapers.I’ve delivered newspapers, developed photos, and dispensed prescriptions. I’ve taught undergraduate students the difference between old-earth and day-age creationism (don’t ask), supervised a masters dissertation on the history of photography, conducted cutting-edge research on fundamentalism, and written an acclaimed book on the history of science and religion. I’ve spoken at dozens of international conferences (and organised a significant one), written newspaper columns about everything from the Darwinian roots of Squid Game to the history of trans research, and turned hundreds of thousands of pounds of public money into top-quality research projects that exceeded their promised outputs. I’ve produced policy positions on victims and survivors of the Troubles. I’ve even captained a team on University Challenge. What I learned from all of this is that I am happiest when I am helping people to understand and to get the information that they need to make better decisions. If I can help you, get in touch.
