This an EU Regional Development Fund programme, which aims to support local SMEs in improving their leadership team, sequentially making the business more profitable. The programme looks to support businesses in the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) area, who have reached the 'jump to the next step' stage. By buying more together, Group Food delivers a competitive advantage to Tesco by delivering better products at cheaper prices through a high quality, sustainable global supply base.Summary: I led development projects that underpin the operational road map, by carrying out continuous review of existing tools and processes; assessing costs and benefits to define requirements and produce solution recommendations. I had a development team, who also provided application support after deployment. I successfully transitioned this development to an offshore team in Tesco India, a massive saving for the business. I worked extensively with the Wholesale team to specify requirements for a system to allow their business to grow - I worked with IT on an evaluation of off the peg solutions, eventually choosing Salesforce, then engaged the deployment. I also designed and deployed SharePoint globally, revolutionising how teams work and share. This gave us the capability to head off waste threats when the appeared in analysis, in a proactive way, and doubtless brought significant savings to Tesco since it's inception. ■ Enable the creation of a new key department within the company, responsible for daily analysis of waste threats throughout the UK business and reporting this to Store Ordering Directors.■ Cross functional work across all of the Fresh Food Commercial areas, including work with suppliers to analyse waste causes and propose ways to avoid them.■ Creation of a daily proposal for waste avoidance, involving system manipulation of order volumes; in addition to getting this signed off at Category Director level.■ Analysis of Fresh promotional activity, reporting to Category Directors on the accuracy of Buyer forecasts.■ Analysis of adversely affected lines (which became known as victim lines) for specific promotions; creation of a knowledge base for future reference, in addition to being proactive in proposing systems activity to limit stock volumes of victim lines before the start of a promotion cycle in order to avoid waste. -
