Introducing students to the world of digital video editing (via Final Cut Pro), as well as the theory behind 'cutting'.

Member of a tight-kit group - Motion Design & Effects - at Barkley, and responsible for a most varied number of tasks. They ranged from the very bottom; DVD production, DVD duplication, video/audio file compression, even presentation designing using After Effects with Keynote/Powerpoint; to the highest broadcast level including the creation/design/execution of animated short films and the creation of aired television spots. Involved on a day-to-day basis in the creative process, and concluded that by executing the storyboarding/animatics, filming, illustration and design, editing, visual effects/compositing, motion graphics, even audio production, in-house.

I was there for two consecutive summers (2005 and 2006) for around 3-5 weeks each visit.If you visit the site, you'll instantly see what Hatch Show Print is. The phenomenal letterpress shop has been in operation since about 1880 and is still going strong. At the moment it is owned by the Country Music Hall of Fame and they produce an amazing array of gorgeous products, 1-sheet, typeset, hand-printed posters for musicians/bands/performing artists/films being their main focus.My responsibilities while there included designing and printing my own pieces, as well as printing classic re-strikes of their vintage, hand-carved boards. Member of a two-man team given the task of re-envisioning the Larned, KS school system's identity. Business identity was the least of the project, as the creation of a DVD, used as a tool for promoting the school system/community, was the majority of the project. Filming, editing, and DVD development took place over roughly five months culminating in an order of a thousand units and a public presentation/demonstration.

Member of the core team responsible for the newly founded clothing line sold in several locations throughout the US, as supervised by the Cosmosphere Senior VP. Logo design was a large factor, and environmental design even came into play. Created promotional poster advertising the release day.
