Entrepreneurial Journey in the Oil & Gas Industry - Founder. In my late twenties, I embarked on an audacious venture—an oil and gas services company—in the midst of an economic downturn. The location? The enigmatic market of Azerbaijan, a former Soviet Union province. Here’s my story:The Early Days:Armed with determination and a hunger for innovation, I laid the foundation for my company. The challenges were abundant—unfamiliar terrain, economic uncertainties, and the weight of responsibility. I learned to navigate bureaucracy, forge partnerships, and adapt swiftly. Every setback was a lesson, every triumph a testament to resilience.Building Against the Odds:Against the backdrop of uncertainty, we built something remarkable. We honed our expertise, solved complex problems, and earned the trust of clients. The unknown became the norm.Merger with qedi:Fate intervened, leading us to a pivotal moment. Our successful journey caught the attention of Aberdeen-headquartered qed. In 2005, we merged our energies, aspirations, and accomplishments. As the Group MD and still a significant shareholder and main board director, I stepped into a new chapter. Lessons in Humility:Entrepreneurship taught me humility. It humbled me before the vastness of possibility and the fragility of plans. I learned that leadership isn’t about titles; it’s about service. It’s about lifting others, fostering growth, and leaving a positive mark.Gratitude and Forward Momentum:Grateful for the journey, I will always carry the spirit of those early days.I remain grounded, knowing that every milestone is a shared victory.
