Responsible for a operations team maintaining 400+ servers, across three sites covering:• WSUS patch Management for the estate (servers and 2500+ desktops)• Server installation, management, recycling• Environmental Management (fire suppression, air conditioning, flooring, security, racking, UPS)• Technical Documentation for operational tasks, server documentation• Backups using EMC Networker• Management tools, (HP Systems insight Manager, Microsoft Systems Center Manager SCOM, OpManager)

• To provide technical and operational support for all supported computing environments to ensure that computer services can be achieved on an ongoing basis and that utilisation, operation and administration of the systems are performed to the required level.• Provide a managed escalation route for operations and systems teams covering the areas of support provided by those teams as below.For the Systems team -Resolving faults covering desktop operating systems and software (Windows 2000/XP, MS Office 2000/2003For Operations team – Resolving faults on server operating systems Windows NT/2000/2003, UNIX• Escalating call to appropriate 3rd line support if unable to be resolved by the skills within the team or to external support companies as required..• Project involvement as part of the deployment of Active Directory 2003 replacing Novell 5.1 • Training new members of staff for 1st and 2nd line support

• Provide 2nd line telephone support and/or attend customer sites as necessary in order to diagnose and resolve customer issues.• Support a varied and diverse server/network infrastructure across 150 sites ranging from large corporate sites (1000+ customers) to small local offices in the community • Investigate and resolve issues covering Windows 95, NT, 2000 and XP as well as thin client terminals• Supporting backups, file restores and data management for the estate, across a wide range of disparate corporate requirements

• Provide end to end customer support ( 1st, 2nd and 3rd line) for all Nintendo hardware sold in the UK, covering installations, fault diagnosis and resolution of issues with customers of all levels of technical ability• Arrange returns of faulty hardware via courier.• Repair customer equipment to component level (in some instances)• Refurbish equipment ready for disposal/resale• Provide logistical and technical support for product launches for press and customers (software and hardware)• Handle stock returns for Sierra (now Vivendi Games) and Gremlin Interactive
