Subham Shrivastava is a Climate Finance and Research Analyst at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), with a background in sustainability, data-driven research, and climate finance. Originally from Siliguri and an alumnus of Delhi Public School, Subham has pursued a path marked by academic excellence and impactful research initiatives.At IEEFA, Subham’s work focuses on carbon markets and pricing, where works on policy and regulatory analysis along with MACC modelling to inform decarbonisation strategies. He is also engaged in the Zero-Emission Transportation sector, utilizing data modeling, econometric analysis, financial analysis and other quantitative methods to analyze data and support the transition to sustainable transportation policies. Acknowledged among the “Top 1000 Academically Gifted Minds of India” by Duke University, Subham has demonstrated an aptitude for complex problem-solving. He scored in the 98th percentile on the SAT, cleared the IIM Indore IPM entrance exam, and ranked among the top in the University of Delhi’s CIC entrance.Subham has co-led research projects addressing critical social issues, such as menstrual hygiene management and cancer analytics through big data. His work has been recognized by institutions like Stanford University’s Social Change in MENSA region initiative, and he has collaborated with the Government of Delhi on health-focused policy projects. Known for his methodological approach, Subham uses data and evidence-based insights to tackle multifaceted challenges in sustainability.His contributions have also gained global attention; he was awarded a full bursary to the Student Energy Conference in Merida, Mexico, and represented India at the Student Energy Engineering Summit in Malaysia. Additionally, he has spoken on digital inclusion at Africa’s Internet Freedom Forum and promoted inclusive development at the Diversity Inclusion Youth Conference in Malaysia.Subham has also held leadership roles in the Model United Nations across Asia, serving frequently as Chairperson and as Under Secretary General. In 2019, UNESCO MGIEP recognized him as a “Top 60 Youth Leader of the World,” inviting him to join a high-level panel on preventing violent extremism.With a blend of technical skills, strategic perspective, and commitment to sustainability, Subham is dedicated to contributing to research and policies that address the pressing issues of climate finance and sustainable development.
