• Installation and configuration of RHEL 5.x, 6.x and 7.x.• User administration – creating and maintaining users & groups, managing user accesses through ACL, SUID, GUID, sticky bit implementation as per client guidelines.• Disk configuration and Filesystem management – working on Filesystem alerts by increasing, decreasing, modifying, creating, deleting Filesystems, creating disk partitions, managing user quotas.• Configuring LVM and managing VG’s– creating new VG (liner and stripped), extending VG, merging VG, splitting VG, exporting VG’s.• Performance and Memory management – verifying high CPU/memory utilization using top, vmstat, iostat, lsof, free and sar utilities, working alongside other service lines (Middleware, Oracle, SAP) in aligning priority and niceness to their processes as requested, performance tuning - increasing CPU/memory, validating tcpdump reports.• Configuring NFS and Samba mount points / shares on servers and clients for file sharing.• Configuring and maintaining local and network repositories using YUM and RPM.• Scheduling jobs through crontab.• Configuring rsyslog server to maintain logs from multiple servers (APP, DB) onto a single server, further validating the logs during IBM audits.• SSH configuration – using SSH Keys for password less and more secure login.• Configuring SUDO privileges in /etc/sudoers file by granting or restricting accesses to users depending on client policy.• Perform patching activities on a regular basis to keep the client environment up to date and compliant to IBM’s CIRATS process using IBM BIGFIX.• Perform timely Health Checks on servers to validate IBM’s security and compliance policy.• Working knowledge of ITIL process – Incident management, Change management – lifecycle of Change process, creating, scheduling (following up with the client for the downtime), attending CAB meetings.
