A physician, MD., with over 20yrs of experience in health programs, policy and strategy development at country, regional level and global levels. Primary area of my work has been in infectious diseases control/eradication program introduction implementation and scale-up including innovations and technologies. With working experience in south Asia, Central Asia, Caucuses and sub-Saharan Africa a major work experience has been to improve health delivery in challenging situations of cross-border/inter-country mobile/migrant population and in areas with security challenges. My working expanded further to get regional organisations including intergovernmental. Like the east African community and the African Union, to bring in relevant policies and strategies that would help the implementation at the country level. In doing so a major aspect of my work has been in supporting countries to move towards sustainable interventions which included resource generation, health financing and resource leveraging. This provided me the opportunity to work with multiple organisations including the private sector. Along with routine activity I have placed much emphasis on research and documentation. I have individually and as a team produced several original published works and paper presentations in international conferences.With increasing level of roles and responsibilities, I had increasing opportunity to represent the organisations that I was in, at the country, regional and global level. This also provided an opportunity for networking and introducing and promoting the achievement of the program/organisation.In my working with international organisation and private sector I have been active in resource generation including developing business plans and doing active business development.A major learning from the past years, has been my sharpened ability, to work and lead a multicultural team with diverse expertise, to be objective, focused and harmonious.
