I have always been interested in people. Why can two people experience the same thing and one can be broken by it and one can become stronger from it? I have also found connecting with people to be something that is really important to me.I was a primary school teacher. I absolutely loved my job. I loved the relationship with the children and trying to unlock their potential.However, various life experiences have led me to wanting to help people who are having a tough time. I have had tough times in the past. Currently, I am lucky enough to have a reasonably comfortable life but whatever one's life is like there are always challenges. I want to reach out and help people who are struggling to cope. I have been on a journey over the last few years which started in the voluntary sector, led me to embark on a Masters program and now to go into private practice as a qualified counsellor alongside working for Teens in Crisis as a peripatetic counsellor.I love helping people to find a way forward; to make peace with themselves. Whilst I value my work with all my clients I particularly love working with young people.

I am passionate about helping young people and view it as a complete privilege that they allow me into their lives. I was thrilled to be taken on as a peripatetic counsellor at the end of my placement.TIC + offers counselling to children, teenagers and young adults across the county. We work with CYPS in order to address the needs of young people referred through the NHS. We also take referrals from the young people themselves, parents, teachers and support staff in schools and colleges, GPs and support workers.
