Profile bio

About Sue Duncan

Over the last 30 years I’ve secured funding for and led a wide range of long-term grant-funded social research studies, and published papers investigating child, adolescent, and family behavior in areas such as: physical activity; alcohol and drug use and abuse; diet and exercise; depression; and social problems such as antisocial behavior. During this time I’ve authored or co-authored around 100 papers in leading social science and physical activity peer-reviewed journals, and co-authored two books. I’m a confident public speaker, having presented research findings at large conferences across the United States, and have conducted interviews on both radio and television. With a doctorate in Physical Education and Sport & Exercise Psychology, my other great love is sports coaching. I’ve coached kids at all levels including High School, KidSports and AYSO teams, specializing in tennis, and with significant experience in other racquet sports and soccer. I’ve also developed and organized physical activity programs for adults. I’ve developed knowledge and many transferable skills from my research and academic career. My key strengths are in organizational skills (such as planning, co-ordination and delivering to deadlines), communication and writing, and building and working with teams. I enjoy working with people of all ages, particularly children and adolescents. I’m now looking for other opportunities, either paid or unpaid, where I can effectively use my skills and experience and make a difference.

Listed skills include Data Analysis, Team Organisation, Planning, Organisation, and 11 others.
