Committed, empathetic, team-playerAs a special education teacher, I provided instruction utilizing evidence-based practices to support student growth and create a positive learning environment so that all students can achieve and learn. Through collaboration and teamwork, I worked with teachers and specialists in the process of evaluation, design and implementation of individualized learning programs so that students can be successful in school and life. I participated in professional learning communities to analyze student data and plan instruction to support student growth through differentiated instruction while ensuring equitable access to core content instruction by providing instructional supports and accommodations. I inspired and empowered students in providing social skills instruction to develop the skills necessary to manage the social-emotional aspects of daily life. As a special education teacher I provided instruction in both the collaborative classroom and resource room settings to support student academic and social emotional growth.
