Extensive experience in the Municipal Service Sector, primarily in Water Services Executive Leadership. With a focus on customer and employee engagement and innovation in operations, as Water Utility Director and then Public Service Administrator for the City of Ann Arbor, MI for 11 year, changes were executed that resulted in reduced operating expenses and improved financial performance. The improved financial performance enabled completion of long needed capital projects for the Ann Arbor Utilities as well as for the construction of Municipal Facilities. As Director of DWSD from 2010-2016, achieving consistent compliance with the Clean Water Act resulted in the discharge of long term Federal oversight. Concurrently, innovations in operations reduced the trend in historical increases in utility charges by 50%. In 2016, the Great Lakes Water Authority was launched as a result of an historical agreement that leases the regional facing assets of the Detroit water/wastewater systems under a regional governance structure. As GLWA's first CEO, assembling a team and standing up a new entity was accomplished in 6 months. Less than 3 years later, GLWA was Nationally recognized as an award winning Utility. In 2020 achieved a 96 % overall satisfaction rating from member partner communities on their annual survey of results. Retired as CEO of GLWA in the fall of 2021 to launch 4Leaders LLC focused on developing the potential of leaders to build strong service oriented and innovative organizations through engagement, collaboration and partnerships.
