• The lead on the Management Information report development to provide exception / insight reporting to enable the business to make great decisions. This include the implementation of a new reporting tool - SAP Business Objects reporting suite• Responsible for planning and monitoring delivery, and implementing revised governance• Developed Business specifications for monthly performance reporting, and delivered seamless transition to the updated reports on time and budget• Planned and managed the development of management information to monitor monthly performance, this included recruiting a development team and defining requirements.• Developed the change management approach including communication and stakeholder management planning

Responsible for the development and management of the business change required to support one of the largest implementations of SAP functionality in the UKSpecialising in the SAP asset management application - project systems I developed an end to end approach for deploying SAP into the business, training and coaching the deployment team to prepare the business for SAP

• Managed the development of the company strategy to control asset data. This involved setting the governance framework for managing corporate data by developing principles and standards. Subsequent activities included attribute definition, source mapping, quality review, gap analysis and the development of improvement plans. •Managed a team of 25 which comprised both consultants and internal staff. Internal staff management included setting targets; regular one to one feedback sessions and coaching staff do develop and achieve their personal development plans. The management of external staff involved the definition and agreement of work packages and regular review to ensure successful delivery.• Managed the process to source all of the asset data; this included a quality assessment and provision of a full audit repository. • Managed multiple projects to collect / acquire data that was required but missing from the corporate systems. • Defined the process to deliver the asset inventory which included data collection, interpretation and completion of the regulatory return. The project required close working with external bodies who were engaged to provide expertise and survey assets. I also managed an internal team who developed an application to process the results of the surveys.

Managed a team of 10 staff I was responsible for the governance of a £2bn Capital Investment Programme.• Reviewed the Capital Investment Process and Implemented a streamlined approach to approvals• Developed the process to improve Capital cash flow forecasting• Reviewed and updated the corporate Capital Investment Manual• Management of the production of annual returns to Ofwat and Drinking Water Inspector• Management of the Business Compensation Claims team.• Preparation of investment business cases, and presentation to the executive

Project manager responsible for implementation of bespoke system to manage the capital investment programme. In this role I managed the whole project from the high level design and blueprinting through to implementation and post go live support. A £5m project, with a user base of 800+, distributed to offices throughout the business.• Compiled the Business Requirement Specification, liaising with end users to establish the base requirement.• Prepared and the Business Case and presented to the approval Board.• Compiled and managed the project plan, using Microsoft project to monitor and control progress• Managed the roll out of the application to end users including the development of training courses, documentation, logistics, infrastructure and delivery to the end users.• Managed of Internal project team, and consultants, and supplier deliveries.

Business subject matter expert responsible for the development of a Budgeting and Financial Forecasting application using Oracle Financial Analyser.• Carried out the AS-IS Business Process Mapping • Defined the Business Requirements Specification, and the Business Design Document, after extensive liaison with the Finance function.• Worked closely with Oracle consultants to develop the application to meet user specifications. • Developed training documentation and scheduled the training courses for 160 staff.

As senior accountant I provided dedicated accounting support to specific areas of the business including Customer Accounting, Transport, Finance, and the Computer Services Department. • Prepared departmental Business Plan, this included budget preparation, comentary and submission to the STW Board. The budget was £30m+ per annum.• Prepared of monthly Management Accounts with full consultation with Managers, including variance analysis.• Reviewed budgets with cost centre managers to promote financial understanding, and control of expenditure, provided training courses as and when required. • Responsible for all input to the half-year and year-end Accounts, including accruals, provisions, and review of purchase orders.• Personally developed a Reporting Suite used to manage Computer Projects, and operating budgets. This entailed extracting data from several mainframe systems, download into a spreadsheet and the use of macros to reformat the data into a management report which included committed expenditure and a full manpower analysis.• Worked with the Finance Manager and future FD on the set up of a sister company Severn Trent Systems, defining the chart of accounts, business processes and installing computer systems for the new company.
