With exception of a couple years spent as Manager of Volunteer Systems for the (then) Cahaba Girl Scout council and as the co-manger for the Western National Parks Association bookstore at Lake Mead National Recreation Area, I have spent most of my life in various volunteer positions. These ranged from secretary for various boards, to leading a group of Stephen Ministers (teaching lay counseling), to being a National Volunteer Trainer for Girl Scouts of the USA (national organization). In the latter position, I gave workshops and seminars that ranged from a few days to several weeks. Currently, I am pulling together an interpretive plan for a local nature center in Los Alamos.
