After completing a two plus year contract with Diabetes New Zealand, I am privileged to be starting with the Auckland Medical Research Foundation as their Executive Director. The Auckland Medical Research Foundation is a charitable foundation established in 1955 to provide financial support for medical research. I feel honoured to be taking up a lead role in an organisation where all of the operational costs are sustained by a generous benefactor so this means 100% of donated funds can go directly into research. In the past 60 plus years Auckland Medical Research Foundation has awarded nearly $70,000,000 to help hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders live longer, healthier lives through the medical advances enabled by investment into research.

Responsible for strategic partnerships, revenue generation, marketing and membership for Diabetes New Zealand.

In New Zealand, Diabetes is a disease of epidemic proportions with an estimated 260,000 New Zealanders diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 Diabetes and a further 1 in 4 described as 'pre-diabetic'. The health complications from Diabetes are immense and this disease is sure to touch every New Zealander at some time in their life. At Diabetes New Zealand, we want to work with individuals, community groups and corporate partners to ensure that prevention, support, education and research are at the forefront of combatting this health crisis together. My role is as part of the team helping to build the relationships, partnerships and profile needed to create a sustainable future for Diabetes New Zealand as the lead organisation for Diabetes.

In October 2012, I qualified as a Surf Life Saving Guard patrolling at Bethells Beach and love every minute of it. It is a volunteer role that is one of the most rewarding I have done in my life. In 2013, I combined my professional capabilities with my passion for surf life saving and commenced in the Commercial Manager role for Surf Life Saving Northern Region. The role that surf lifesaving plays in the community is significant, helping to save lives and prevent drowning and injury on our beaches and coastline, and I will continue on in my volunteer capacity ... 'In it for Life'.

I joined Sweet Louise in 2010, a not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve the well-being of women and men with metastatic (also known as secondary or advanced) breast cancer. With advanced breast cancer there is no cure, and, leading a team of 10, we continued to expand services and support throughout New Zealand to enable the quality of life for these women, men and their families.

I joined Sport Auckland in April 2009 as the Chief Executive. Sport Auckland is one of the 17 Regional Sports Trusts around New Zealand and the current vision is "creating sustainable community physical activity and sport". Sport Auckland receives funding directly from SPARC to work with Regional Sports Organisations, Schools, Pre-Schools and Communities to encourage and enable sport and physical activity. Other key stakeholders are District Health Boards, Primary Health Organisations, Councils and Businesses.

In my role at Alzheimers Auckland, I employ the depth and breadth of management, sales and marketing experience gained over the years (minus the business lunches - refer my previous employment). Alzheimers Auckland Inc is a not-for-profit community organisation that provides free dementia support services to the greater Auckland area.

Within the range of 12.5 years at TVNZ, I held four different positions across Sales & Marketing, including On-line & Digital.
